On behalf of the Alpine Independent School District Board of Trustees (School Board), please note we are starting a scholarship drive for the graduating class of 2006.

Our goal is to create a fund that will be self-sustaining (endowment of sorts) and recipients of the scholarships will be each and every graduating senior who plans to further their education either in college, junior college or trade school.  The premise is that even a small monetary award may make the difference between a student continuing their education or not.  That spells OPPORTUNITY! 

These are very loose conditions at this time.  We will need to establish a Board of Directors for the entity and more specific terms for making awards.  Our best source for funds and board members is Alpine Exes via this website.

Just think:  If each member (1427) listed here gave $100, we could create an endowment in excess of $70,000 AND award $70,000 in scholarships!
